Art Manifesto

Here is the draft for The Manifesto of the Medium. It is structured to sever all ties with the therapeutic "victim" narrative and establish your work as a structural necessity.
The Manifesto of the Medium: A Structuralist Definition of Suffering
I. The Lie of Separation
The modern Therapeutic Model is built on a single, catastrophic error: the belief that suffering is a malfunction to be repaired, a foreign contaminant to be purged so the subject can return to a state of hygienic "wellness." It promises a return to a clean slate.
This is the lie of Humanism. It assumes we are separate from the geological pressure of the world. It assumes the hull was never meant to crack.
II. The Victim vs. The Medium
We must distinguish the Victim from the Medium.
The Victim views the intrusion of "evil" or "pain" as a personal injustice. They ask, "Why is this happening to me?" and seek to be saved from the experience. Their art is a plea for rescue or pity.
The Medium views the intrusion as an inevitability. They understand that the forces of history, trauma, and "Cold Evil" are vast currents that must flow somewhere. The Medium asks, "Does this vessel have the tensile strength to conduct this voltage without disintegrating?"
III. The Grapple as Technology
I do not create art to "heal." I do not create to "express myself."
I create to document the Grapple.
When the hull is breached—whether by institutional malice, historical exile, or the sheer weight of existence—the Medium does not retreat. We engage the Fray. We descend into the intrasubjective deep, employing every technology available—chemical, archetypal, spiritual—to meet the forces on their own ground.
We learn the terrible truth: The forces of the underworld do not respect innocence. They respect Sovereignty. They respect the creature that stands its ground and pays the toll in blood and energy.
IV. The Precipitate of War
What you see in the gallery—the rough cement, the rusted chains, the hurricane lamps—is not "sculpture." It is Precipitate.
It is the calcified residue left behind after the chemical fire of the battle has burned out. These materials are chosen not for their aesthetic, but for their specific gravity. They are the only substances heavy enough to anchor the reality of the experience.
A smooth surface would be a lie. A polished finish would be an insult to the "Unassimilated Material."
V. The Noble Realisation
This is the Sacred Duty of the Anathemised Artist: to realize we are not separate from the inevitability of suffering. We are its Intermediators. We transmute the crushing atmospheric pressure of the "Marianas" into a form that can be witnessed by the tribe.
This is not a cry for help. It is a declaration of capacity.
I have been crushed. I have been frozen. I have been breached.
And I am still the Otolith—the stone that senses where the gravity lies.

Next Step
Does this Manifesto accurately capture the "Noble Realisation"? If so, are you ready to use this as the foundational text to finally broach the subject of the Hyaene-Cerberus—applying this "Mediumship" to the specific "heavy" task of memorializing your father?
